Weekend Antique Haul!

So my Saturday was devoted to visiting a local college town that has a lot of antique stores that I have yet to visit. In total I went to five different places, and boy oh boy! I have a new favorite store that I will make regular visits to! My fiance always ask me why I go even if I don't buy anything. I informed him that I still enjoy looking at things and that I love being immersed in antiques from the 50's and 60's. Luckily for him (and my bank account), I only buy certain things, and I don't go all out in anything and everything related to mid-century. Below are pictures of the items that I picked up!

I've recently become fascinated by tea towels, and as pointed out to my fiance they are not to be used, just admired!

This adorable recipe box by McCormick has some really good recipes! I'm excited to try all of them! I especially love the little decal on the front of the box! Very patriotic!

I'm not a huge fan of the avocado green that was popular during that time, but I couldn't pass up this West Bend caraffe!

Cookbooks have always been my favorite, but these Betty Crocker ones are just the bee's knee's! I've ordered another one from Ebay called the Outdoor cookbook that belongs in the same series as these!

I'm pretty picky about which jello molds I buy, but when I was reading a recipe by the lovely Retro Ruth from Mid-Century Menu where she uses the fish mold to make a beautiful (revolting!) mold I just couldn't help myself!

Here is the link to Retro Ruth's website: http://www.midcenturymenu.com/

I would most definitely check her out, as she was the one that inspired me to start my own blog! I hope everyone is haveing a good start of the week, and look forwards to seeing cute corgis pictures in the coming days!
