Fixer-Upper Friday

Betty Draper is my idol...sometimes. While I don't always agree with everything she does (you know the stuff I'm talking about) she generally is a good depiction of how life "generally" was for housewives in the 50's and 60's. I use the term very broadly, because I know personally some women who were housewives during that time and their experiences vary depending on their situations.

One of the episodes stuck out to me. Betty had just had a breakdown in regards to Don cheating on her (quite a lot), so she spent her time redoing the drawer liners in her kitchen. Well today I tackled the task head on! We "inherited" our house from my fiancé's parents. It was built in 1953 and has been very well updated by his parents. I love the green checkered linoleum floors that match the green countertops!

So here is my first attempt at something that just seems so "housewifey".  Enjoy!

The finished product! I'm quite happy with it, and it had some defects which is fine for my first time!if you guys and gals have done something similar, let me know in the comments! Happy Friday!
